Information on the non-acceptance of Marija Adžić's appeal in relation to the text published on the Kodex.me portal

The Media Council for Self-Regulation received a complaint from Judge Marija Adžić regarding the text published on the Kodex.me portal on March 18, 2026.

In the appeal, the applicant states that in the disputed text: "Very serious accusations were made related to me as a judge, including allegations of alleged participation in criminal acts, without citing evidence or legally binding decisions of competent authorities to support such allegations."

The applicant believes that the publication of such content, especially without clearly indicating the author of the text, damaged her reputation and the reputation of the judicial function she performs. She points out: "As a holder of a judicial office, I am obliged to endure a greater degree of public criticism, but I believe that in this particular case, the published statements exceed the limits of permitted criticism and represent the presentation of serious accusations without a factual basis."

Acting on the complaint, the Media Council for Self-Regulation informed the complainant that the Kodex.me portal is not a member of the Media Council for Self-Regulation, and that the Council, in accordance with its Statute and competences, is not able to consider complaints related to the reporting of that media. According to the Statute, the Council is authorized to consider exclusively complaints related to the work of the media that are its members.

The appeals committee did not consider this appeal. The Media Council promptly informed the applicant about the outcome and the reasons for not accepting the appeal and undertook everything within its jurisdiction.
