The Media Council for Self-Regulation received, through its website, a citizen's complaint regarding facilities problems in Đurići on 5 August, 2025. Tivat Municipality, specifically, regarding the unloading of rubble on public land during the tourist season.
Acting on the received complaint, the Council determined that it does not fall within the scope of its work. Namely, the Media Council for Self-Regulation was established with the aim of improving media ethics and professional standards in the Montenegrin media outlets, and acts exclusively on complaints related to media reporting by members of the Council and compliance with the provisions of the Code of Journalists of Montenegro.
Bearing in mind all the above, the Council is not authorized to act on complaints concerning communal issues, the work of communal companies or local administrative bodies, nor to inform the public about such issues. It was explained to the complainant that such complaints can be addressed to the competent institutions — the local administration of the municipality of Tivat or another competent authority.
The complaint was rejected as unfounded.
